The Iron Mink had a long life on the Great Western Railway, but it was also used on other railways, notably on the LNWR and on most of the Welsh Lines, which were absorbed into the GWR. The vans were also supplied to a number of private Owners, including Spillers, and they were copied by various independent wagon builders.
